The quality inspection of shaft forgings includes the inspection of appearance quality and internal quality. Appearance quality inspection mainly refers to the inspection of geometric dimension, shape, surface condition and other items of shaft forgings; The inspection of internal quality mainly refers to the inspection of various items such as chemical composition, macro structure, microstructure and mechanical properties of shaft forgings.
Specifically, the appearance quality inspection of shaft forgings is to check whether the shape and geometric dimensions of shaft forgings comply with the provisions of the drawing, whether the surface of shaft forgings has defects, what kind of defects are they, and what are their morphological characteristics. The inspection content of surface state is generally to check whether there are surface cracks, folds, wrinkles, pressure pits, orange peel, blisters, spots, scars, corrosion pits, bumps, foreign objects, underfilling, pits, lack of meat, scratches and other defects on the surface of shaft forgings. The inspection of internal quality is to check the internal quality of the shaft forging itself, which is a quality condition that cannot be found by the appearance quality inspection. It includes not only the inspection of the internal defects of the shaft forging, but also the inspection of the mechanical properties of the shaft forging. The chemical composition analysis should also be carried out for important parts, key parts or large shaft forgings.
