321 stainless steel rod is a titanium-stabilized austenitic alloy. It is nearly identical to the 304 grade but contains an addition of Titanium at least five times the Carbon content. This specific modification makes it the premier choice for applications involving high-temperature service (427°C–816°C) where intergranular corrosion would otherwise be a major risk.
