316 stainless steel pipe is the second most common grade (after 304) and is often referred to as "Marine Grade" stainless steel. The addition of Molybdenum (2–3%) significantly enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in environments containing chlorides and other industrial solvents.
