316H stainless steel pipe is the high-carbon variant of the 316 austenitic alloy. While 316L is designed for low-temperature corrosion resistance and welding, the "H" version is specifically engineered for elevated temperature service. By maintaining a higher carbon content (0.04% to 0.10%), it provides significantly better creep strength and structural stability when exposed to temperatures exceeding 500°C.
