254 SMO (UNS S31254) is a 6-moly high-alloy austenitic stainless steel specifically engineered for use in halide-containing environments, such as seawater or acidic solutions. Often referred to as a "Super Austenitic" grade, it provides a cost-effective but high-performance bridge between standard 300-series stainless steels and expensive nickel-based alloys.
